3 separate incidents of larceny from vehicles reported

On 02/07/2023, the City of Lapeer Police Department received three separate reports of
Larceny from Auto incidents that occurred sometime during the night hours between
02/06/2023 and 02/07/2023, at addresses located on Rolling Hills Lane in the City of
Lapeer. It’s believed that the doors to the vehicles were likely unlocked. No signs of
forced entry were found. Property stolen from the vehicles included loose change, a
women’s wallet, and three shotguns contained in three separate soft gun cases. If you
have any information that may assist with the investigation, please contact D/Sgt Craig
Gormley at 810-664-0833.

Please remember to lock your car doors. Unlocked vehicles are easy targets for thieves
looking for a crime of opportunity. Most of these crimes can be prevented by locking
your car doors, keeping valuables out of plain view, or removing the valuables from the
vehicle all together. If you observe suspicious activity, it’s important to report the
activity by dialing 911.
