Established in 1847, Mt. Hope Cemetery is comprised of 40 acres
with roughly 26,000 grave spaces. Featuring Michigan’s
6th largest oak tree (southwest corner) and a bronze
statue quietly gracing Babyland, the cemetery offers
a peaceful resting place.
How to purchase a Plot
If you wish to purchase cemetery plots, we recommend that you
inspect the plots with the sexton at the cemetery
before coming to City Hall. All arrangements and
payments for cemetery lots and services must be
made at the Finance office in the City Hall.
Purchasers of lots are subject
to the rules and regulations enacted by the City
Commission.
