ISO Rating
This is the rating that most insurance companies use to determine
what to charge for homeowners and business-related insurance. It
is based on the way the fire department receives/dispatches fire
responses (911/countywide Central Dispatch), available water and
fire department manpower/equipment/training.
Meet Your Fire Chief
On behalf of everyone at Lapeer
City Fire & Rescue, I would like to welcome you to the Fire
Department's website. We hope that you will find it to be an interesting and useful source of information for you, your family and/or business.
The department is
staffed by a full time Fire Chief, Fire Marshal and a Fire Inspector, one part time firefighter working 30 hours a week, and 39 paid-on-call firefighters and officers. The department operates
out of a single station and has three fire engines, a tender (water tanker), a rescue vehicle, a grass truck and an aerial platform ladder truck. During 2008, the department responded to a total of 357 calls for service. These are all fire or rescue related;
medical emergencies in our service area are handled by Lapeer County EMS.
This is a significant number of calls to be handled by a predominately
“volunteer” department.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. If you have
any questions or suggestions, please contact me.
